The Toyota ends up about mid-pack when it comes to price and engine output, but is pretty light on features, especially when comparing it to the Kia.

The Corolla XRS starts out at $22,350.

Conclusion
The Corolla in XRS trim is a more dynamic and involving car, even though it still isn’t a hot rod. And yet it keeps all of the Corolla’s virtues; comfortable ride, refinement, reputation of reliability and strong resale value.

If you’re looking to add character and driving excitement to your compact family hauler, the XRS can’t quite match the Mazda3 GT and Lancer GTS, but it’s an interesting alternative nonetheless.
