2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Road Test

11-4-2003

by Rob Rothwell , Canadian Auto Press

So has Chevy's attempt to rekindle the SS flame been successful in the Monte Carlo line? I, for one, vote yes. Although not unheard of, supercharging production cars is relatively unique in the world of staid American auto manufacturers. Although supercharging is not new to GM, it remains a bold and ambitious undertaking.

If you're in search of a midsized car that will turn heads and throw you back in your seat, a bright yellow Monte Carlo SS could be the ticket. (Photo: Rob Rothwell, Canadian Auto Press)
Auto enthusiasts in search of a midsize set of sporty wheels that will turn heads and not show up in every Costco parking lot would be well-served by a Monte Carlo SS, whether supercharged or not. Lay your greenbacks down on a competition yellow SS and I guarantee you won't have difficulty locating your pride and joy among the gray and beige that dominates the automotive world.
