2005 Honda Accord EX-V6 6-speed (Video Clip)

5-22-2005

by Matt St-Pierre , Auto123.com

Safety

The Accord has standard dual front, side and side curtain air bags, ABS
brakes with electronic brake force distribution (n/a on LX-G), traction control (n/a on LX-G ) and seatbelt pre-tensionners. The NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) awarded the car 5 out of 5 stars (a perfect result) for a frontal impact and 4 out of 5 stars (an average result) for the front passengers and 5 out of 5 stars for the rear passengers in lateral impacts. The IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) has rated the Accord sedan a "Best Pick" in its category for both frontal and lateral (with side air bags) impacts.

Conclusion

An Accord coupe and a Prelude have two things in common: 2 doors and the Honda logo. The Prelude was dynamic to drive and just more hard core. I must be getting old though because I think, in the long run, I would prefer living with the Accord than the Prelude. I particularly enjoyed my test drive of this as it is not pretentious, it only delivers the goods.

Nevertheless, no one can take away the fact that the Coupe is still an Accord and therefore one of the most sensible midsized cars on the market, with four or two doors. Honda is synonymous with quality and reliability. I have said it before and I will say it again: The Accord is a sure bet.
