2005 Pontiac G6 Road Test

11-25-2004

by Alex Law , Auto123.com

Many of the cars that compete in this category offer double overhead-cam engines, which put out more top end speed for those visits to that mythical high-speed universe, and they are for sure more modern than the technology the G6 uses. Now, this notion appeals to many insecure people who feel the need to pay more for things to impress other insecure people, so if that applies to you, please consider yourself excused.

Pontiac G6 is also priced competitively with the Japanese cars in this segment. This means you can drive a very well equipped and very competent model for $27,685, which doesn't include that irritating ''destination'' charge that the companies try to make sound mandatory but isn't, and taxes. This is utterly competitive, or better.

On balance, then, the overall strength of the Pontiac G6 is that has the quality that you can sometimes find in imported mid-size cars, but it is delivered in a package that makes a lot more sense for Canada.
