2006 Ford GT Driving Impressions

6-17-2006

by Amyot Bachand , Auto123.com

I was lucky enough to drive a few laps in the past, in a Ferrari or a Porsche GT. I found the adaptation of the GT to be very easy. That's a
good thing, because we have a supercar in our hands which we can't lose control in, and break. The car intimidates you, especially with the engineer next to you, who's also happens to be a race car driver. You want to show him to you know how to drive, but you must also get familiar with the car. As you go along learning how the car feels, you can increase the tempo. Gladly, I know the track very well, which helped me concentrate on the car and my driving. With the engineers' advice, who know the car like no one else, I could push further, sharpen my passion and taste this marvellous GT a little.

Thanks again to Ford's Christine Hollander for inviting me to this rare opportunity to drive a superb car. Thanks to the engineers for conceiving it.
