Conclusion

The Odyssey EX makes perfect sense for those seeking reliable and safe transportation for their family. At $36,400, it strikes me as a good deal, considering all the features included in this version, not to mention the dual power sliding doors. The only sad part is if you would like a DVD system for back-seat occupants, you'll have to move up to the $41,900 EX-L RES model. Oh well. If you're shopping for a minivan, though, and you don't have a lot of money to spend, you can get yourself behind the wheel of a Dodge Caravan for a promotional price of about $20,000. It won't be as well-equipped as the Odyssey, of course, but it's still thousands less.

This minivan has its little faults. But overall, the complete package is impressive, and is close to perfection, as far as minivans go. With the light redesign of the Nissan Quest for 2007, which will address its interior flaws, a choice between the two would be tough for me. If this type de vehicle is in your short-term purchase plans, check those two out. For the sum of its parts, though, I think I would choose the Odyssey.

What I like:
Excellent engine and transmission
Loads of space and storage
Long list of security features

What I don't like:
Uncomfortable seats
Sound system lacks MP3 playback
Claustrophobic feel in 3rd row seat
