Price is the other--and at around $35,000 as tested, it's a tough sell to any naysayer. Being on the cutting edge always costs a bit more than following the leader, and there's some novelty involved too--the same reason a Honda S2000 costs more than a loaded Pilot--much less physical machinery but a higher level of neato. Same idea.

The Prius has a surprising amount of interior room; more than enough for four adults.

Will you save money in the long term if you get into a Prius? You could--but as with any hybrid, do your math first.

Should I consider it?
Yes. You'll get a rebate from the government if you pick one up, which helps offset the price tag. Prius makes a great conversation piece for the driveway, and an ideal second car to run around town in doing errands. It's easier to park and far more sensible to drive when the capability of the Yukon or Navigator isn't needed. And honestly, after a short time you'll probably forget it's a Hybrid at all.

It's pure entertainment to drive in a number of ways--and it's good for the earth. A win-win situation to some, if you will.
