Ahead of the curveMontreal, Quebec - As a society of consumers, we love our stuff. We especially love the latest gadgets, the smallest electronics and fastest most powerful computers. It is no secret; we feel the exact same way about our cars. Car manufacturers, as producers of some of the largest and most expensive consumable goods that 99% of us will ever buy, must be able to feed our needs.

The 2008 Enclave is a big classy vehicle that is perfect for the golf course or the opera house. |
General Motors has seen the light. In fact, the light is so bright now that, in my opinion, it is nearly impossible for GM to deter from the path they have undertaken. Crossovers are what we want at the moment. They are the hot ticket item. Pretty soon, we will all be driving one much like the minivans of the 80s and the SUVs of the 90s.
Posh CrossoverOne if not the most attractive toy in the segment at the moment is GM's trio: the GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook and Buick Enclave. I have already given the Acadia the "Thumbs Up" following a few days behind the wheel of the macho member of the Trio. The Buick Enclave is the sophisticated and elegant one all draped in chrome and other such ornaments.
The Buick Enclave's design is smoother and shapelier than that of the Outlook and Acadia. I cannot say that it is the best-looking, however it is certainly the most distinguished. The idea of the dressed-up crossover carries on throughout the Enclave's cabin. As lush and as plush as any Cadillac, the Buick is dressed to the gills, ready to take you to the opera or to the country house.
