2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt Preview

11-11-2007

by Justin Pritchard , Auto123.com

"The 2008 Mustang Bullitt delivers balanced performance," said Paul Randle, chief engineer. "Comfort is not compromised for performance. Performance is on demand. You can easily take Bullitt from the track to the street and back onto the track with confidence."

Staying true to the undercover look of the original car, Bullitt carries no badges, logos, scoops or spoilers. It's a real sheep in wolf's clothing, and the only identification it carries is the word "Bullitt" on the fake gas-cap on the decklid. The exclusive Highland Green paint is only available on the special model, though Bullitt can also be painted in black if you're not a fan of green.

The interior, like the exterior, is true to its roots. Bullitt comes dressed in black leather with satin metallic trim, and the shifter knob and pedals are also made from metal to remind drivers of the car's intentions. The clean, minimalist look continues inside with the door-sills and steering wheel carrying the only logos.

Bullitt comes in as a $4,495 options package on the standard GT Coupe model. Expect to see it in dealerships soon.
