If you've ever wanted a 550 horsepower SUV with a voracious appetite for corners, then Porsche has you covered. The luxury and performance vehicle manufacturer has just extended its Cayenne offerings with the most powerful model in the lineup- the Cayenne Turbo S.

Porsche says the twin-turbocharged beast is a response to the wishes of its customers- citing demand in emerging markets for sports-style SUV's with 'top notch physical handling dynamics'. Despite feeding 50 more horses than the standard Turbo model, Porsche says that fuel mileage is identical when measured in accordance with the New European Operating Cycle methods.

The added output comes from a revised exhaust system and improved engine controls, Porsche says. Ceramic composite brakes are available, as are other features like a multimedia control system and navigation.

The Cayenne Turbo S develops 550 horsepower courtesy of a 4.8 liter V8 engine that's force-fed cool air from a pair of intercooled turbochargers. Turbo S is set apart with a set of 21-inch wheels and four-pipe exhaust outlets. A unique new 'lava gray metallic' paint treatment is exclusive to the "S" designated model as well.

Cayenne Turbo S goes on sale this August.
