Also available is a new-generation entertainment and navigation system with touch-screen activation and hard-drive based music storage. The screen also displays a rearward-facing image when the car is in reverse gear to help drivers park.

Optional 12-way adjustable power seats can be heated and ventilated, and the centre console houses an air-conditioned storage compartment as well.

Pricing will be announced closer to the CC's on-sale date, though Volkswagen officials have already confirmed that it will command a premium over the regular Passat model. The sleek new CC goes on sale here towards the end of the year.
