Press release

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario
- March 6, 2009 --- Porsche AG today produced the 250,000th Cayenne at its Leipzig plant in Germany. The milestone vehicle is a white, 6-cylinder model with a diesel engine that will be delivered to a customer in Austria. The Cayenne, a sporty SUV, has been produced in Leipzig since 2002.

"The introduction of the Cayenne was an important strategic step for Porsche. The five-seater is not only a great addition to the range for our many long-term Porsche customers, but it also opens up to us an entirely new customer segment on international markets," explained Dr. Wendelin Wiedeking, Chairman of the Board of Porsche AG. The Cayenne uniquely combines sportiness with robustness and off-road capability.

Porsche sold 150,000 first-generation Cayennes worldwide. Since the launch of the second-generation Cayenne in February 2007, sales have increased further thanks to the vehicle's improved fuel efficiency, higher performance, and improved handling. The sports car manufacturer has continued to expand production at Leipzig. In the 2007/08 fiscal year, Porsche sold 45,478 Cayennes.

In Canada, the Cayenne is available in six different versions. The entry-level model comes with a 3.6-liter, six-cylinder engine with 290 hp. The more powerful Cayenne S is driven by a 4.8-litre V8 with 385 hp, while the Cayenne Turbo produces 500 hp. The top-of-the-line Cayenne Turbo S has a twin-turbocharged 550-hp engine. The athletic GTS model offers, in addition to its 405-hp 4.8-litre engine, a specially-developed sport suspension and a more aggressive design. Finally, the new 2010 Cayenne S Transsyberia is a road-going version of the robust Cayenne Transsyberia rally car. Based on the Cayenne S, it features unique styling cues and the more powerful engine from the Cayenne GTS.
