Team Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Blake Young started out the 2011 AMA Superbike championship season by winning the first two races at Daytona International Speedway last week-end.
Young’s team-mate
Tommy Hayden was not left behind as he took home impressive second- and third-place finishes on his
Suzuki GSX-R1000.
The weekend’s first AMA Superbike race saw Young in a multi-rider battle for almost all 15 laps but when the dust had settled, however, Young took the win over Hayden by just .026 of a second.
In the second race, Young was biding his time until the final lap when he stormed the front-runner and took the lead along with his second victory of the weekend.
The next event of the 2011 AMA American Superbike Championship series is at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California, on May 13 – 15, 2011.
