Audi's new TTS coming this summer

5-1-2008

by Auto123.com

Audi's sporty TT model has undergone some upgrading and will be available in a higher-performance TTS model that comes in both coupe and convertible configurations. A revised front end with more ducting, LED running lights and a new apron help set the TTS model apart- as do it's 18-inch wheels, xenon lighting and speed-deployable spoiler.

TTS comes powered by a reworked version of the company's award-winning 2.0 litre turbocharged four cylinder engine with 272 horsepower on tap. The block remains the same, though revised heads and intake work with a larger turbocharger to deliver the extra grunt.

A dual-clutch S-Tronic gearbox and quattro all wheel drive are on board too, enabling TTS can run from 0-100 km/h in just over 5 seconds. A six-speed manual gearbox is available as well.

Of course, Audi will add a generous helping of high-tech goodies on demand- including the shoppers choice of two navigation systems, iPod integration and Bose audio. TTS also comes with dynamic steerable lighting, a magnetically actuated suspension system and a two-stage ESP system for sporty driving.

TTS will arrive later this year in Canada.
