Alonso and Ferrari supposedly ink deal for 2011 - report
Fernando Alonso has an agreement to switch to Ferrari in 2011, Italy's authoritative La Gazzetta dello Sport reports. The Spanish could even switch to Ferrari in 2010 as an early replacement for Kimi Raikkonen, who performed disappointingly last season.

Gazzetta said the agreement has numerous two-sided exit clauses. If fully exercised the driver could race at Ferrari until the end of 2014. Alonso's current Renault contract runs for two more years.

Fernando Alonso's manager has admitted that the Spanish former double world champion wants to race for Ferrari one day. Abad, however, told the news agency EFE that any suggestion of a done deal would be premature.

Ecclestone rescues marriage in Serbia
Bernie Ecclestone rescued his ailing marriage with a post-Christmas visit to Belgrade, according to local media. The Swiss newspaper Blick revealed that Ecclestone, 78, spent Christmas Eve alone at their London marital home. Serbian media published photos of the couple together in Belgrade.

A F1 street race for Rome?
Rome could be the ideal location for formula one's next street race, according to Maurizio Flammini, involved in the promotion of Superbike motorcycle racing. "With the new trend for city races, there are perhaps opportunities for Rome to organise a F1 grand prix," he is quoted as saying.

Trulli manager slams Kobayashi rumours
Jarno Trulli's manager has added another denial to speculation that the Toyota driver might be replaced before the start of the 2009 season. The Italian's manager, Lucio Cavuto, slammed the rumours, which originated on the internet, as "without foundation".

Alonso pens deal with Spanish F1 broadcaster
Fernando Alonso has inked an agreement involving grid interviews and other special access to the former double world champion with Spain's new formula one broadcaster from 2009. La Sexta will next year take over from Telecinco in broadcasting the sport within Spain.

La Sexta deal is for 6 million euros over the next five years, which is a slight increase in the Telecinco deal.

Woking victory parade for Hamilton called off
A victory parade for Lewis Hamilton on the streets of McLaren's local town has been called off. It is reported that civic leaders in Woking, located in the English county of Surrey, baulked at the $160,000 bill to provide security for the event.

"Given the council's financial position and the national and global economic climate, Woking Borough Council is unable to fund an event that would enable members of the public to safely participate in the celebrations," a town hall spokesman is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
