German Formula 1 driver Sebastian Vettel became yesterday the youngest driver to win a Grand Prix at the age of 21. Vettel beat the record set by Fernando Alonso.


Vettel, born on July 3, 1987, raced in karting, Formula BMW and Formula 3 before he made his debut in Formula 1 last year when he replaced the injured Robert Kubica in Indianapolis with team BMW-Sauber.

Yesterday's victory was also the first for the Scuderia Toro Rosso, né Minardi. The small Minradi team was created in 1972 by Giancarlo Minardi and it entered Grand Prix racing in 1985.
