From Formula 2 Press release

Andy Soucek became the 2009 Formula  2 champion after last rounds of the season in Imola. Vasiliauskas won first round, before Soucek clotured his successful week-end by a win.

Kazim Vasiliauskas scored a sublime maiden victory of the season in the opening F2 race at Imola, whilst Andy Soucek clinched the 2009 FIA Formula Two Championship, before last rounds in Barcelona, with a third place finish.

He managed to rejoin just in front of second place Mirko Bortolotti to maintain the lead, although he came under intense pressure.

Andy Soucek took his fifth win of the season in the second race, just one day after clinching the 2009 FIA Formula 2 Championship.
