Georgian College Auto Show 2008: Another Success!

10-27-2008

by Justin Pritchard , Auto123.com

J.P.: How do the students manage to put on such an enormous event just a few weeks after classes begin?

J.D.: Our Auto Show Committee has worked hard throughout the past year planning this amazing event for the public. We started back in October and a ton of work got put into the show, long before the tents started to go up in September.

However, without the help of our first-year students, the show would not be possible. They are asked to volunteer their time and are thrown into Auto Show activities directly upon their arrival at Georgian. They're more than happy to step up to the plate and start their careers within the first week of school.

J.P.: As one of the show organizers, what's the most challenging aspect? The most rewarding?

J.D.: Our committee this year was faced with a few challenges, but I think the most challenging aspect was ensuring that no small detail was overlooked. The most rewarding thing, as an organizer, is to watch the students grow.

They are given a huge responsibility, and over the course of the show, we see new friendships born, and new careers in the making. One great friendship was worth all the battles.

J.P.: So where can potential students or auto enthusiasts go for more information about the show or the school?

J.D.: The Auto Show has its own website at autoshow.georgianc.on.ca, and the school's site is www.georgianc.on.ca.
