GP2 Asia: Luca Filippi clinched victory in Race 1 in Bahrain

Luca Filippi took victory in race 1 in Bahrain after he started from pole position, giving team Meritus its first victory.

Filippi won despite pressure from Davide Valsecchi, who finally finished second ahead of Charles Pic. Valsecchi already clinched title two weeks ago in Bahrein.

A caution car has brought the safety car after an incident between Christian Vietoris and Plamen Kralev.

Tomorrow’s race will be the final round of the 2009-2010 GP2 Asia championship.
