Lewis Hamilton: The harder it is, the better

We catch up with Lewis Hamilton, third in this morning's race for ART Grand Prix

GP2 Series: Lewis it's been a great weekend for you. A double points haul and problems for Piquet. You must be very happy.
Lewis Hamilton:
Yeah, for me it couldn't get much better. Obviously we could have had a lot more points this weekend, but I think considering we qualified eighth, we came second yesterday today and then today to come from seventh to third, to do it all over again, was a great result. We've made some progress with the set-up and the team did a fantastic job as usual. They always do a fantastic job and they always work extremely hard to prepare the car. In the pitstops they love it when I come in because they get to play a role in the race, and they did a good job again and I came second yesterday, third today, and strong points. Unfortunately we didn't get fastest lap. I was pushing for it but my tyres went off quite quick.

It's a bit unfortunate for Nelsinho. You always have ups and downs, and fortunately for me I've had less downers than he has this year. But that's the name of the game. You need to stay as consistent as possible and that's what we're doing.

GP2 Series: You said in the press conference yesterday that after what was a comparatively poor test and then race in France, you thought you and the team had taken the wrong direction with the set-up. Is that something you've now rectified?
Lewis:
Yeah, absolutely. We, as a team, we developed some things in testing at Paul Ricard. We did some set-up changes which were actually better at that time. Perhaps, for whatever reason, perhaps it was a smoother track or just a different surface, it worked well there but when we got to Magny Cours it didn't work so well, especially in qualifying. In the race we were still quite strong, not as strong as we usually are, and in qualifying yesterday we struggled, a lot, just like we did in Magny Cours. So we analysed it a lot on Friday evening, we came away and we made the right choice, and it became transparent. It was so clear to us. So we made the change and it seemed to work a lot better for the race.
