NASCAR: Brad Keselowski wins the first Nationwide race at Iowa

8-2-2009

by Éric Descarries

Brad Keselowski (Chevy No 88) showed how strong he was by leading the most laps at the first ever NASCAR Nationwide race ever held at the Iowa Speedway and by passing Kyle Busch (Camry No 18) with eight laps to go after the 10th caution to win the race.

In this very exciting race, veteran Jason Leffler (Camry No 38) finally edged out Sprint Cup veteran Carl Edwards (Ford No 60) for third place.

Kelly Bires (Camry No 10) ended up fifth.

Busch, who still leads the championship over Edwards, tied the nine consecutive top-two finishes held by veteran Jack Ingram in 1983.

The Nationwide series moves to the Watkins Glen road course next Saturday.
