Saturn's new Vue Green Line Hybrid, a value and fuel economy leader

GM Canada recently announced pricing and fuel consumption ratings for its all-new 2008 Saturn Vue Green Line hybrid. Starting at $30,790, it becomes the most affordable hybrid SUV in Canada and proves to be more affordable than some hybrid sedans from rival automakers.

In terms of fuel economy, the Vue Green Line has a best-in-class average consumption rating (city-highway) of 7.3 L/100 km. Actually, it offers better fuel economy than the CRV, RAV-4 and even the Camry and Accord sedans.

What this means is that the Vue Green Line has a range of almost 1,200 kilometers with just a single tank of gas. Think about it: you could easily travel roundtrip from Toronto to Ottawa without the need to fill up!

Later, in 2008, Saturn will introduce a 2-mode hybrid Vue which will increase fuel economy by an estimated 45 percent over the comparable non-hybrid model. Saturn has also committed to producing a plug-in hybrid Vue that will get approximately twice the fuel economy of any SUV currently on the market.
