Ford and Lincoln vehicles use a similar system which utilizes a keypad mounted to the driver door. Rather than use the keys, a passcode is entered to unlock the vehicle. You could intentionally lock your keys inside!

DVD Entertainment System |
DVD Entertainment System: Now, the kids can watch their favourite movies on the go. Most new crossovers, SUV's and trucks are available with a DVD entertainment system which is mounted to the ceiling and folds down for viewing by rear-seat passengers. They generally come with wireless headsets, so mom and dad can enjoy their favourite CD or radio station at the same time.
Chrysler is taking this one step further, and will be offering satellite television exclusively in their vehicles.
DVD Navigation: A technology once reserved for high-end luxury brands, DVD navigation has dropped somewhat in price and is making its way to the mainstream. Using GPS satellite information and detailed software maps of North America, the system allows drivers to watch their current location in real-time via a screen on the vehicles centre console. For the most part, DVD navigation systems offer impressively detailed maps and allow drivers to input their destination and make their way with turn-by-turn guidance. They're also able to track down the nearest gas station, store, restaurant or theatre in a matter of seconds.

It's inevitable: what starts on high-cost flagship models eventually trickles down to the cars you and I can afford. The automotive industry is on the cutting edge, cranking out more inventions than ever before. These will become accepted, more widely used and less expensive--meaning good things for the consumer at the end of the day.
