Jacques Villeneuve says that not being a part of BMW-Sauber's sizzling form this year is not bothering him.

The former world champion, who is currently spending time with his new wife and baby son in Canada while he waits on his future in the NASCAR series, was nudged out of the Swiss squad last year while team principal Mario Theissen pushed on the career of Robert Kubica.

Villeneuve's teammate last year, Nick Heidfeld, sensationally passed world champion Fernando Alonso during the Bahrain GP recently, but the French-Canadian insists that he did not watch the television wishing that he was still in the Hinwil-built single seater.

"They seem to be doing well which makes me happy for the guys who work hard in there," Jacques said.

He added: "As far as I am concerned, I turned the page so I don't dwell on whether I would be quicker or not."

Villeneuve, who will race with Peugeot at Le Mans later this year, went on that news about his prospective NASCAR drive has been slow because there is "no point in rushing".

"It's more important to take the time to set things up properly," he said.
