Villeneuve vs. Heidfeld at BMW Sauber

6-27-2006

by Michel « Flag » Flageole

Which one's the best between the two?

In my opinion, Jacques is! Why? Because...

Because Jacques is a world champion and he's got ten years experience in F1, which you cannot buy in the paddocks. Nick arrived in F1 in 2000 with Prost, before racing the 2001 and 2002 seasons with Sauber-Petronas, and the two next with Jordan-Ford. In 2005, with Williams-BMW, Heidfeld only get 28 points for a 12th place finish in the standings. A talented pilot, that's for sure, but not a world champion. Never was, never will be.

Jacques is serious and hungry!

Anyone who knows our Jack is aware that he has the talent and the will to win that fuels the Villeneuve family. He's already proven that he's got the speed and the guts to face the best. All he needs this season to distinguish himself is an adequate horse, the support of his team, engineers and mechanics, as well as a bit of luck. Jacques needs a capable car that can not only go fast, but that can also finish events.

Jacques started the season being considered the second driver for BMW Sauber, under the management of Mario Thiessen; he must now deserve his place in the heart of the team, with his efforts and results, period.

In my wildest dreams, I see Jacques surprise all his detractors and offer the Montreal public the best result of his life at the Grand Prix of Canada, during the Saint-Jean-Baptiste celebration weekend, on the track that's named after his illustrious father. I think that a good performance from his part would clearly demonstrate to the BMW Sauber management, that Jacques is far from hanging up his helmet.
