''We hope to have an announcement from our Boston counterparts later today,'' confirmed Audi's spokesman Juergen De Graeve. The deal was announced by Audi on April 18th pending final approval from antitrust authorities.

The purchase of the Italian carmaker will bring the Volkswagen Group number of brands to 12. Ducati will find itself in such illustrious company as Porsche, Lamborghini and Bugatti, to name a few.

The transaction is estimated to be worth 860 million Euros (approx. $1,062,188,305 can.)
