Husqvarna lifted the veil on the two newest members of its motorcycle family this week: the Nuda 900 and 900R.
A mix of supermoto and naked bike, the two models are rather hard to pigeonhole. However, that’s not a problem for Husquvarna. They promise that both bikes will offer a sporty and dynamic experience.
While the Nuda 900R inherited the manufacturer’s flashy red-and-white racing livery, the Nuda 900 is decked out in a more subdued black number.
Both bikes are based on the F 800 R; Husqvarna boosted the displacement of the liquid-cooled, parallel 2-cylinder from 798 cc to 989 cc and increased the compression ratio to 13.0:1.
These changes, among several others, improve output and torque while offering the thrill and sound effects of a racing machine.
The F 800 GS chassis underpinning the Nuda 900 and 900R was shortened by 50 mm and now includes a stiffer, 80 mm steering column tube. Engineers also decreased the caster angle for optimal agility at low speed.
The Nuda 900’s suspension is comprised of 48 mm Sachs forks and a fully adjustable Sachs shock a setup that, along with the two-tier seat, encourages relaxed riding.
The suspension of the sportier Nuda 900R, on the other hand, raises the centre of gravity. It features fully adjustable, 48 mm Sachs forks and an Öhlins shock with a myriad of calibration options.
