ConclusionThe Ford Five-Hundred really did nothing outstanding for me, yet somehow the Freestyle works for me. At some point while I was driving, I forgot what it was I was at the command of. In my eyes, this is a good sign because there are no particular problems or issues that render the experience negative. Actually, the fact that the Freestyle is under-powered would only become an important issue on trips where the vehicle would be fully loaded and possibly having something in tow. If Ford can maintain a level of reliability and customer service, I think the Freestyle should do quite well. It is better priced than the Pacifica and more agreeable to drive. At the moment, the Chrysler has a nicer interior and a more powerful engine. The cabin matter could be overlooked; however Ford needs to minimally drop a 240 hp V6 without increasing pricing to make both the Five-Hundred and Freestyle move out of dealerships. Good stuff:Easy to drive Minivan drive, SUV utility Not so good stuff:Needs more oomph.
