2005 Honda CR-V EX

12-26-2004

Conclusion

The lack of a real rear bumper continues to be an issue. In low speed
impacts, the CR-V did very poorly according to the IIHS. This means that there can be a higher cost involved in the case of a small "bumper" bender. This obviously changes nothing as far as safety is concerned, however it could be something to consider if you live in the city.

The CR-V is quite possibly the best all-around affordable vehicle available at the moment. It is reliable, roomy, comfortable, easy on gas and handsome too boot. However, $31,400 does not include heated front seats (a must these days in my opinion) and no variable intermittent front wipers. It may sound as though I am nitpicking and the truth is I am. With all the competition out there, the manufacturer has to meet and surpass the opposition. Its versatility is limited only by the weight of what you want to bring with you on the trip.

For those looking to purchase a vehicle and do not want a station wagon or do not require a minivan, the CR-V will certainly do a good job.

Good stuff:
Nice engine
Interior space

Not so good stuff:
Steering when parking
Slow AWD system
