2005 Kia Sorento EX-Luxury (Video Clip)

5-14-2005

by Matt St-Pierre , Auto123.com

Safety

The Kia Sorento has standard dual front and side curtain air bags, ABS brakes and seatbelt pre-tensionners. The NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) awarded the truck 4 out of 5 stars (a good result) for both front passengers in a frontal impact and 5 out of 5 stars (a perfect result) for both front and rear passengers in lateral impacts. The IIHS has rated it "Average" and comes in 9th out of 14 SUVs in its category.

Conclusion

The principal key with Kia products is value. For the price, you get much more for your money than from a Toyota RAV4, a Honda CR-V or a Chevrolet Equinox. Standard equipment levels are high, capabilities and utility are superior to most other SUVs in its price range.

There are many elements that a manufacturer must offer to entice consumers to purchase their vehicles and a good warranty is right near the top of that list. Kia delivers at this level also. With a very complete 5 year / 100 000 km period for both the basic and powertrain warranty, few car makers can make the claim that your vehicle will be covered, in most cases, for the duration of the loan. And speaking of financing, Kia is offering some very interesting rates at the moment. Kia reliability is average for now but as the Hyundai-Kia machine continues to grow, quality should also increase.

Good stuff:

Great value
Real 4X4 abilities

Not so good stuff:
High fuel consumption
Not the most comfortable ride
