It certainly could when the thin blue line on a map begins to kink and turn like a bad hairdo. faster than a class of fourth graders demolishing a bag of Halloween candy. With the massive push delivered by its 285/35ZR 19-inch Goodyear Eagle F1 rear rubber, the C6 powers out of turns with startling thrust. Deactivating the car's Traction Control System and activating its Competitive Driving Mode eliminates the electronic parenting that maintains compliance with the laws of physics when the right foot overindulges. For the advanced driver, throttle steer can be easily induced when the nanny-aids are off-duty, so to speak. Of course, at this point a controlled track is the only option because public roadways are out of the question for such driving techniques. limits, the C6 allows a fair bit of artistic license in the corners before imposing order. Many Corvette owners belong to specific Corvette clubs as well as general sports car clubs that organize sanctioned solo races (racing against the clock on a closed track), such as the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America). In addition to being an outright, and dare I say legal, blast, this is an excellent venue for honing driving skills while testing one's mettle against other drivers and vehicles. Undoubtedly a C6 would perform very admirably right out of the box. Unless seriously competing, the Z51 performance package is simply not necessary to be a contender. In fact having tested C6 'Vettes with and without the Z51 handling advantage, I would leave the Z51 package on the side of the road like a murderous hitchhiker if given the choice.
