A new quality engine
In 2006, Japanese manufacturer Kawasaki withdrew from its partnership with Arctic Cat and Suzuki. Alas, this led to the death of the famous 650-cc V-twin engine -- the best fit for this heavy yet efficient chassis. Luckily, Suzuki came to the rescue with an all-new powertrain derived from the Kingquad 700. This new 695-cc, 4-valve, single-cylinder engine featuring a very sophisticated electronic fuel injection system gave a new life to the TRV platform and, thanks to a host of technical advancements, made people forget about the old V-twin. The 48-degree angled cylinder helps lower the center of gravity and maximize the fuel delivery. The under-seat fuel tank also lowers the center of gravity while offering the possibility to position the air box directly over the cylinder for improved air feed.

This ATV delivers a good mix of smoothness and ruggedness.

The engine found in the 700 TRV LE offers a steady powerband and delivers generous low- and mid-range torque. It's also very much at ease at higher revs; however, the excessive weight of the vehicle slightly alters the engine's prowess, especially with two occupants. So, while it might not be the most powerful in its class, this mill manages to find a spot among the industry's most charismatic thanks to a refined operation, a sweet sound and a proven efficiency.

The continuously variable transmission (CVT) features low- and high-range gearing. A switch mounted on the handlebars allows the rider to select between 2WD and 4WD. Meanwhile, the differential can be locked by using the switch on the right handlebar. This simple yet effective system delivers more grip than a limited-slip differential when locked. No matter what your needs are, you will always benefit from permanent 4-wheel traction.

Offering exceptional 2-up stability, the Arctic Cat 700 TRV LE appeared safer than any traditional single-rider ATV equipped with an extra seat. Moreover, this machine is just as fun to ride; the extended wheelbase made it more stable and more comfortable.
