I loved how the Mono-Shock RA system behave on the trail. Same goes for the Deltabox II chassis. Together, they offer excellent track grip in all conditions. This type of suspension works like a charm thanks to adequate damping settings and easy-adjustment capabilities. The 2008 RS Vector is motivated by the same engine than last year. The 3-cylinder Genesis 120 was specifically developed and built for snowmobile applications. In order to reduce costs and remain competitive from a pricing standpoint, Yamaha chose to retain the carburetor-based fuel delivery system. After assessing the performance of this powerplant on many occasions and with different chassis, I can safely say that its operation is nothing short of exemplary. The powerband is steady, while low- and mid-range torque is massive. This engine is also extremely smooth and easy to modulate, which is perfect for a snowmobile designed to swallow hundreds of miles per day. What's more, the Genesis 120 is the quietest 4-stroke engine ever produced by this Japanese manufacturer. The new 2008 Yamaha RS Vector is more attractive than ever due to a new racier, more modern styling. The near-perfect synergy between engine and chassis no doubt makes the RS Vector one of the best 4-stroke snowmobiles in the entire industry. Photo Credit : Philippe Champoux
