2009 Toyota Venza First Impressions (video)

11-3-2008

by Marc Bouchard , Auto123.com

Also noteworthy is the fact that the Venza is available with two-wheel or all-wheel drive, the latter being a new system developed for the occasion. Quick, efficient and inconspicuous, it did its job without ever asserting itself, even though our testing took us across some icy country roads.

On the safety front, the Venza can count on a power-assisted traction system and stability control. The high-end versions will also inherit adaptive head lamps that adjust themselves according to traffic conditions.

An imposing yet altogether elegant vehicle.

A true Toyota
A few hours behind the wheel convinced me that the Toyota Venza is a pleasure to drive. Stable, precise and predictable, it's a true Toyota (lacklustre steering system and all), but not a step forward. With a sales price below $30,000, it will definitely carve out a place for itself on the market.

But which one exactly, the wagon or the crossover market? You be the judge.
