As for cargo capacity, the trunk is seemingly huge and the rear seatbacks fold down, which promises interesting accommodation. However, just as I was about to load my travel bags, I realized that the opening is barely larger than a coffee cup (or so it seemed). In fact, I wonder if it's even possible to fit a set of golf clubs all at once instead of one by one. I'm almost not kidding! I guess styling prevailed here too.
Pleasant driving dynamics
Of course, beauty will always remain in the eye of the beholder, which is why it's a good thing that Chevy paid equal attention to driving dynamics. From that standpoint, the 2010 Camaro is a commendable though not exceptional performer. Granted, my tester was the 304-horsepower V6 model and not the almighty SS.
That said, the car fares pretty well on the road despite its heavy weight. The base engine has enough juice to satisfy regular drivers like you and I. While a more convincing exhaust note would have been appreciated, you can still revel in the linear accelerations and delightful energy overall.

Elsewhere, the suspension is nicely calibrated, offering a sweet balance between ride comfort and sporty handling to make those long Sunday drives even more enjoyable. The underpinnings of the Camaro are also great at minimizing body roll and weight transfers, even during emergency manoeuvres. By the way, the brakes deserve praise for stopping the ponderous Chevy with immediacy and the automatic transmission proves to be smooth and efficient.
My main complaint on the road is visibility. The small windows, large pillars and huge blind spots mean you could fail to see a bus that's right next to you. Needless to say you have to drive carefully and stay alert; make sure the path is fully clear before attempting manoeuvres.
What else? Well, since the beltline is fairly high, it almost feels like sitting in a bathtub with a roof, making shoulder checks that much harder.
In the end, the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro has style, great potential and surreal charm -- enough to bring me back to my childhood days and create similar memories for my 10-year-old son.
