Now, for 2008, Civic celebrates yet another milestone- Car of the Decade. After selling 70,838 copies in 2007, the Japanese automaker announced the achievement yesterday at the Montreal Auto Show.
"We are pleased to see the Civic achieve this 'car of the decade'
milestone," said Jim Miller, executive V.P. of Honda Canada Inc. "The Civic's popularity with Canadians is due to its fuel efficiency, full complement of standard safety features and fun-to-drive character, which speak to the Honda benefit of quality cars that are
green,
safe and fun."

The current, eighth generation model was launched in 2006 and sees three new powerplants, a new style and class-leading safety features fitted. Coupe, Sedan, Hybrid and Si Coupe models are available. An Si-designated Sedan model was added to the lineup this year as well.
Over 1.4 million Civics have been sold in Canada since 1973.
