Formula 1 is in China this week-end for the next-to-last race of the 2008 championship.

Lewis Hamilton is ready to do everything it takes to forget his disastrous Japan race of last week. He is doing good so far as he topped the sheet of both practice sessions on Friday.

The British took almost half a second on rival Felipe Massa in the morning, and just a little less on Fernando Alonso's Renault in the afternoon. Renault - last two races winner - could surprise this week-end again.

A couple of mistakes on this first day in China: Nelson Piquet visited the gravel of the pits entrance in the morning, like Hamilton did last year; Webber, Barrichello, Trulli, Raikkonen, Vettel and Bourdais are also of those who did not have perfect sessions.

Qualifying of the Grand Prix of China will be presented in direct early Saturday morning (ET), as will be the race, on Sunday.
