Jose Maria Lopez: I don't feel right

7-31-2006

by Flagworld

But I promised my two mechanics that if I won today I would give them my trophy. For me, a trophy is very valuable because you work so hard to get it. I was going to give them the first place trophy, I promised them I would win, so I cannot give them a second place trophy. It's not enough of a reward for what they did. At the next race, if I win, for sure that trophy will be for them.

If you see my mechanics, they have burnt arms because of me, because they rebuilt my car in 20 minutes in qualifying. You know? They worked so hard, just because of me. To have guys around you like this makes you feel so good. It's these things that I love about motorsport. All the people are working for you, thinking about you, they don't care about anything else. They give everything for you, and I just wanted to do the same for them.
