2004 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V Road Test

Variables/Options: The jazzed up Spec V featured some pretty nifty standard variables/options. My test subject incorporated the "Sport Package," that includes a power sliding glass sunroof (to observe various cloud formations and weather patterns no doubt), a 300-watt Rockford Fosgate audio system w 9-speakers, an immobilizer/anti-theft system, the aforementioned anti-lock brakes (ABS), partial fold down rear seats, and front seat side-impact airbags. The price of the optional Sport package will not damage the pocketbook either, at least not like an F-5 tornado would rip the roof off of

a house. It's only an additional $2,900 added to the already reasonable $21,998 Spec V price.

Optionally there's the Brembo package, the mere mention of the legendary name which would cause any auto enthusiast of respectability to conclude with certainty the fitment of high-grade performance brakes. Basically take the sport package, remove the ABS brakes and side-impact airbags and then add Brembo's 4-caliper and 4-vented disc brake system, for $2,800.

Observations: The first observation is its revised styling, highlighted with a new grille bringing the compact model inline with Nissan's flagship Maxima. The front and rear fascias have also been modified slightly, giving the aging model a new lease on life. It's amazing how just a few seemingly simple changes can make such a major difference, but it's true. The Sentra, especially in SE-R Spec V form, looks better than ever.
