As always, Kia products are about value for the money, so while there's no word from Porter yet on what will be standard and what will be optional, assume that the list of standard equipment will be extensive.
Most likely (but not for sure), the base car will include such things as auto-off headlights, AM/FM/CD audio system with six speakers and door-mounted tweeters, height adjustable steering column, a tach, eight-way adjustable driver's seat, digital clock, tinted glass, rear window defroster and dual map lights with sunglasses holder.
Major options for the base trim include the four-speed automatic with overdrive, air conditioning, a rear spoiler and carpeted floor mats.
Look for the upscale model to come with such additional equipment as air, power windows and doors (with remote keyfob), dual body-color heated power outside mirrors, and front fog lights.
Optional equipment could include the four-speed automatic, cruise control, alloy wheels, power moonroof with tilt, rear spoiler, carpeted floor mats, and a body kit that adds a front spoiler and rear valence.
The full price list for the 2005 Spectra is as follows: LX Manual $15,895 LX Automatic $16,995 LX Convenience Manual $17,695 LX Convenience Automatic $18,795 EX Manual $18,695 EX Automatic $19,795 EX Luxury Manual $19,995 EX Luxury Auto $21,095
Like all Kia models in Canada, the new Spectra will be covered by the 5-5-5 Extra Care Warranty, which features a five-year/100,000-km comprehensive warranty, five-year/100,000-km powertrain coverage, and a five-year/100,000-km Extra Care Roadside Assistance program.
That roadside program includes 24-hour roadside assistance across North America, plus limited food, lodging and transportation coverage should repairs take more than 24 hours.
