The Legacy 2.5i Limited is a mighty fine small and agile player. However, its big brother has a more powerful slap shot and will ask for a slightly higher salary. If the decision was mine and had that amount of money to spend on well-built, powerful and entertaining sports sedan, I would pay an extra $1,400, sacrifice the leather seat and sunroof, and move up to the 5-speed, 250-hp turbocharged Legacy 2.5GT.

What I like:
Gorgeous, inside and out
Entertaining to drive
Looks and feels rich and well-built

What I didn't like
4-speed automatic is slow to react to downshifts; no manual available
Climate control system needs rotary controls instead of buttons
Lack of rear seat space
