Quite wisely Toyota has equipped all FJ Cruiser's with vehicle stability

control and traction control as standard equipment; dual-stage front airbags are also included as standard. Unfortunately, front seat side airbags and side curtain airbags are optional, but I guess limiting standard equipment to the essentials is how Toyota has managed to keep the FJ's entry price under the $30K threshold. Regrettably, like most 4X4 SUVs the FJ isn't a fuel-economy high achiever. At 14.5 litres of premium fuel per 100 kilometres (16 mpg US) of city driving and 11.2 litres (21 mpg US) on the highway, any money saved forgoing options may well be spent on the nectar of motoring.
