2008 Cadillac Escalade Review

5 juillet 2008

par Rob Rothwell , Auto123.com

Driving dynamics emphasize luxury
The Escalade is a big, heavy vehicle- there's simply no masking that fact; a fact which presents itself prominently when this luxo-cruiser is asked to perform in the corners. In addition to its substantive cornering heft, steering feel is on the vague side. The significant mass also reveals itself during braking but no more so than expected in this class of vehicle.

The Escalade is a big, heavy vehicle- there's simply no masking that fact.

Deficits in handling are more than made-up for in ride quality, after all this is a Cadillac. The Escalade specializes in treating its occupants to a smooth, well-mannered ride in which irritants such as road and wind noise are stymied before permeating the spacious cabin.

Depending on the chosen seating arrangement, the Escalade will accommodate up to seven passengers plus a driver in complete opulence, all of whom will be spoiled by a full-load of comfort and entertainment accoutrements. In addition to travelling in the lap-of-luxury, they will be surrounded by a comprehensive array of occupant protection in the event of a crash or rollover.
