2008 Honda Accord EX-L Navi Review

18 mai 2008

par Justin Pritchard , Auto123.com

On the road
Accord EXL delivers a ride that's mainly comfortable and well sprung. Steering has gained a weighty, solid and very European feel which works well with the cars increased size and weight. The extra girth is absolutely noticeable but not intrusive when it comes time to have a little fun.

Still, the energetic and nimble feeling present in the older models is toned down. If it's sharp response and lively handling you're after, you'll be more impressed with the Mazda 6 or Nissan Altima.

The trunk is generous, though narrow in the centre due to intrusive wheel wells.

An ideal upgrade?
This is the Lisa Simpson of Japanese sedans- sharp, smart, familiar and very sensible. Both have stuck to their guns and played it safe, and they've each got an overloaded trophy rack to show for it.

In fact, Accord is this year's class valedictorian when it comes to affordable sedans, evidenced by its "Best new Family Car" award from the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada.

If you've been an Accord driver for years, you'll likely buy another one. Most will appreciate the new models family heritage and availability with a honkin' V6 engine. If you're a Lisa Simpson type, you'll opt for the four-cylinder model, which starts at $25,090.
