Ferrari is known all over the world for its exclusive cars. However, some are more exclusive than others, like the one sold by RM Auctions/Sotheby's Ferrari Legend and Passion at a recent
auction held on the Fiorano Circuit, in Italy.
The 1961 Ferrari California Spyder 250 GT SWB set a new all-time record by fetching 7.04 million euros, which is equivalent to 10.9 million $CA.
This fantastic car once belonged to actor James Coburn, further increasing this Ferrari's already sky-high value.
Penned by Pininfarina, a famous Italian design studio, the California Spyder 250 GT SWD is a true automotive icon and an evolution of the
250 GT Tour de France. A 280-hp 12-cylinder engine helped build the hype around this machine.
A few days prior to the auction, Ferrari officially announced the
next-generation California. Inspired from the original Spyder, this new model pays tribute to the 250 GT of the 1960s. It was also designed by Pininfarina.
