According to several sources based in South America, Brazilian driver
Lucas di Grassi will make his
Formula 1 debut next season with a new team.
According to TV Globo journalist Galvao Bueno and other motorsport journalists of South America, Di Grassi, third in this year’s GP2 series has signed a contract to become the teammate of Timo Glock at Manor, the new F1 team that will be renamed Virgin GP next week.
It is said that the contract was signed November 30.
Di Grassi, the test driver for
Renault took part in the collective F1 tests at Jerez de la Frontera last week, driving a Renault R29.
Considering that the Renault F1 Team may soon be sold, entirely or partially it is comprehensible that Di Grassi wanted something solid for next season and accepted the Manor deal.
