NASCAR: Jacques Villeneuve to race Watkins Glen Sprint race

According to www.ruefrontenac.com, former Formula 1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve will compete in the Sprint Cup race held this weekend at Watkins Glen, New York.
Villeneuve was in Switzerland when he received the phone call at the very last moment. He plans to be at the track Friday morning, just in time for the first practice session.
According to Villeneuve, he will be driving “a good car that is already qualified”.
“I will let the team do the official announcement,” Villeneuve told Auto123.com.
“I won’t say a thing about the team. But I admit it’s a good car. It’s going to be fun to get back behind the wheel of a Sprint Cup car. I really look forward to it,” Villeneuve said.
Several NASCAR teams rely on road course specialists when they compete in this type of race track. Road course drivers in Watkins Glen will include Villeneuve, Ron Fellows, Patrick Carpentier, Brian Simo, Max Papis, Andy Lally and P.J. Jones.
