Quebec driver Alex Tagliani followed on his Friday performance to earn the top spot on the grid today during the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series qualifying round on the Trois-Rivières urban circuit for the GP3R 100 event.
Tagliani set the fastest time at the wheel of his own No. 03 Chevrolet while DJ. Kennington (Dodge) was second fastest in the end but not before those two swapped fast times during the last couple of laps.
Series’ point leader Andrew Ranger set the third fastest time with his Ford Fusion No. 27, the 22-year old driver not able to match Tagliani’s pace both during practice and qualifications.
Anthony Simone (Chevrolet) and former Formula 1 champion Jacques Villeneuve (Ford Fusion) came in to finish respectively 4th and 5th.
Pro hockey player Patrice Birsebois qualified 19th.
