NASCAR: Clint Bowyer wins Daytona with style

Clint Bowyer (Chevrolet No 29) both signed his first ever pole and won his first ever race at Daytona on Saturday in the first ever NASCAR Nationwide race with side-by-side restarts. Once again, the race ended with a green-white-checkered situation in which there was a six-cars wreck on the very last lap. Bowyer, the 2008 series champ nevertheless crossed the start-finish line in front of Kyle Busch (Camry No 18), Carl Edwards (Ford No 60) and Joey Logano (Camry No 20) as Kasey Kahne (Dodge No 10) finished 5th. Crowd favourite Dale Earnhardt (Chevy No 5) was caught up in a wreck on lap 58. Kyle Busch has now extended his championship lead to 172 points over Edwards as the series heads to Chicagoland next Friday evening.
