Young J.R. Fitzpatrick (Chevy No 84) grabbed his first pole of the season at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières early Saturday afternoon for Sunday's NASCAR Canadian Tire race. Last year's winner, Kerry Micks (Ford No 02) will start second followed by Alex Tagliani (Ford No 7). 2007 series champ Andrew Ranger (Ford No 27) could not do better than 7th place. Canadian D.J. Kennington (Dodge No 17) missed qualifying so he will start 26th. Robin Buck (Ford No 88) and Didier Schraenen (Chevy No 94) will start form the end of the pack because of technical mistakes during the qualifying session.
